Located in the heart of bustling Vaughan, Ont., the historic Village of Kleinburg is full of charm and green space. The village is named after the Kline family, who settled in the area in the mid-1800s to build a sawmill and gristmill. Though the Klines’ stay was short, their business made a lasting impact, and the Village of Kleinburg evolved from the seeds they sowed.
BINDER TWINE FESTIVAL- Saturday September 12th, 2015
The Binder Twine Festival is a momentous occasion each year in Kleinburg, bringing the community together to celebrate our unique heritage and traditions. The Festival began when Charles Shaw Jr. used to distribute binder twine to the local farmers; customers would buy in bulk, purchasing enough to last them an entire year. It’s said that in return for their loyal business, the Shaw family would provide dinner as a token of their appreciation. This neighbourly gesture eventually evolved into a large community festival complete with refreshments, games and entertainment. For more information visit www.kleinburgvillage.ca
